چکیده
Abstract. The simultaneous rise of tropical-cyclone-induced flood waters across a large hazard management domain can stretch rescue and recovery efforts. Here we present means to quantify the connectedness maximum surge during storm with geospatial statistics. Tide gauges throughout extensive estuaries barrier islands North Carolina deployed operating hurricanes Matthew (n=82) Florence (n=123) are used compare spatial compounding for these two disasters. Moran's I showed occurrence tide was more clustered compared Florence, semivariogram analysis produced range similarly timed that 4 times as than Florence. A limited data set fluvial flooding precipitation in eastern consistent result – multivariate sources associated were concentrated time Although equally intense, they had very different tracks speeds which influenced timing along coast.

This study aimed to investigate the personality characteristics related to entrepreneurial spirit of rural women. The statistical population of the study included rural women in the central district of Nimrooz County in Sistan and Baluchistan Province (N=406). Krejcie and Morgan Table was used to determine the sample size. To this end, 186 participants were selected through stratified random sa...
متن کاملInterspecies interactions of halophilic and halotolerant actinomycetes: An example from a salt
Interspecies interaction of actinomycetes will express new gene clusters and may therefore affect the pigmentation, sporulation and production of secondary metabolites. Actinomycetes strains were isolated from Howze Soltan Salt Lake. Binary actinomycete interaction assay was conducted to evaluate its effect on colony morphology and antibiotic production. The molecular identification of the indu...
متن کاملRapid Assessment of Wave and Surge Risk during Landfalling Hurricanes: Probabilistic Approach
Aprobabilistic framework is presented for evaluation of hurricane wave and surge risk with particular emphasis on real-time automated estimation for hurricanes approaching landfall. This framework has two fundamental components. The first is the development of a surrogatemodel for the rapid evaluation of hurricane waves, water levels, and run-up based on a small number of parameters describing ...
متن کاملDetection of surge and stall in compression systems: an example study
Issues concerning the detection of surge and rotating stall in a compression system are considered. It is observed that, when surge or rotating stall happens, the plenum pressure rise and mass flow rate of a compression system exhibit abrupt change while those of its linearized model do not. With this observation, it is shown that the surge and rotating stall can be successfully detected by emp...
